Vision And Product
What BASE5050 Is
+What is BASE5050?
BASE5050 is a decentralized Web3 50/50 raffle platform on Base Mainnet. Anyone can create a raffle or buy tickets with ETH or USDC. Smart contracts handle ticket sales, winner selection, and payouts on-chain, with no platform token and no middleman deciding outcomes.
+What is the vision behind BASE5050?
The vision is simple: make fair raffles the default on Ethereum. Traditional online raffles often hide how winners are chosen. BASE5050 was built so creators and players can see every ticket, every fee, and every draw on-chain. Fairness is enforced by code and RandProofRNG, not by trust in an operator.
+How does a BASE5050 raffle work?
Connect a wallet with ETH or USDC on Base Mainnet. Creators pay a flat 0.01 ETH (or $20.00 USDC + 0.0001 ETH) creation payment to launch a raffle. Players buy tickets at 0.0025 ETH or $5.00 USDC each. When the raffle completes, RandProofRNG selects a winner and the contract pays out automatically: 50% of ticket sales to the creator and 50% to the winner.
+What can I do on BASE5050?
You can create raffles, buy tickets in active raffles, share raffle links, view live prize pools, and check completed results. Creators earn 50% of ticket sales from raffles they launch. Players compete for the other 50%. Everything is wallet-native, with no accounts, no platform points, and no proprietary token.
Token And Money Flow
ETH And USDC
+What token does BASE5050 use?
ETH and USDC on Base Mainnet. ETH raffles use ETH for tickets and payouts; USDC raffles use native USDC. Both also need a small amount of ETH for gas and the finalization reserve. There is no BASE5050 token, no governance token, and no platform points.
+Why is there no platform token?
BASE5050 follows a no-token philosophy on purpose. A platform token would add speculation, bridging complexity, and trust assumptions that do not improve raffle fairness. Using ETH keeps the product aligned with Ethereum itself: one asset, transparent fees, and real utility for ETH holders.
+What does it cost to create a raffle?
Creating a raffle costs a transparent 0.01 ETH or $20.00 USDC + 0.0001 ETH. For ETH raffles, 0.0099 ETH goes to the platform wallet and 0.0001 ETH funds the RandProof RNG/Automation reserve. For USDC raffles, the full $20 goes to the platform wallet and the attached 0.0001 ETH funds the same reserve. There are no hidden percentage cuts on top of that creation payment.
+What does a ticket cost, and how is the prize split?
Each ticket costs 0.0025 ETH or $5.00 USDC, depending on the raffle's payment token. Ticket proceeds form the raffle pot. At settlement, the smart contract splits that pot 50/50: half to the raffle creator and half to the RNG-selected winner. BASE5050 does not skim a percentage of the prize pool.
Network
Base Mainnet
+What network is BASE5050 available on?
BASE5050 runs on Base Mainnet (chain ID 8453) with a single contract that handles both ETH and USDC raffles. Connect your wallet to Base and you are ready to create raffles or buy tickets, with no bridging and no network hopping.
+Why did BASE5050 choose Base?
Base is an Ethereum L2 incubated by Coinbase, designed for low fees, fast confirmation, and a large retail-friendly wallet audience. For BASE5050, Base is ideal when you want inexpensive ticket purchases and easy onboarding for players who already hold ETH or USDC, without leaving the Ethereum security model.
+Why an L2 instead of Ethereum mainnet?
Mainnet ETH security is the foundation, but mainnet gas can make frequent small ticket purchases expensive. Base settles to Ethereum while keeping fees low enough for real raffle activity. You still use ETH, still get on-chain proofs, and still inherit Ethereum’s security, with a better day-to-day UX.
+Why did my MetaMask ticket purchase fail?
If your MetaMask account is a "smart account," it wraps every transaction in extra contract calls, which can occasionally under-estimate gas and fail on-chain (costing a small amount of gas). To fix it: open MetaMask, select the account, go to Settings → Smart account, and switch the Base toggle off. Transactions will then go directly to the raffle contract and succeed normally. You can re-enable it anytime, and it only affects how MetaMask submits transactions, not your funds.
+Does BASE5050 support tokens other than ETH?
Yes. Raffles can also be created and joined with native USDC on Base. USDC raffles cost $20.00 USDC plus 0.0001 ETH to create and $5.00 USDC per ticket, settled in USDC on-chain.
Fairness And RandProof
RNG, Automation, And On-Chain Truth
+Why does BASE5050 integrate RandProof?
Winner selection must be random and independently verifiable. RandProofRNG (Verifiable Random Function) provides cryptographically proven randomness that smart contracts can check on-chain before accepting a result. RandProofAutomation helps raffles finalize without relying on a human operator to press a button. Together they remove BASE5050 from the outcome path.
+What is RandProofRNG, and what makes it fair?
RandProofRNG generates a random value plus a cryptographic proof. The BASE5050 raffle contract verifies that proof on-chain. If the proof is invalid, the result is rejected. That means neither BASE5050, the raffle creator, nor a participant can quietly swap in a preferred winner. The math has to check out publicly on the blockchain.
+Can BASE5050 control or change raffle outcomes?
No. Once a raffle is live and tickets are sold, BASE5050 cannot pick winners, reorder tickets, or rewrite results. Final randomness comes from RandProofRNG and is verified by the smart contract. There is no admin “choose winner” switch. If we could control outcomes, it would not be a provably fair on-chain raffle. That is exactly what BASE5050 refuses to be.
+Is BASE5050 fully on-chain?
Yes for the critical path: raffle creation, ticket purchases, prize accounting, RNG winner selection, and payouts are executed by smart contracts on the chosen L2. Anyone can inspect transactions and contract state on a block explorer. The UI helps you interact; it does not replace the on-chain source of truth.
+What does RandProofAutomation do on BASE5050?
RandProofAutomation watches for raffles that are ready to settle and triggers finalization on-chain. That reduces dependence on a manual keeper. Combined with the Decentralized Finalization Reserve, Automation and RNG are funded so draws can complete even when no single user is standing by to finish the process.
+How can I verify that a raffle was fair?
Open the raffle’s on-chain transactions and contract events for ticket buys, the RNG request/fulfillment, and the payout transfers. Cross-check the winner against the proof-verified random value recorded on-chain. BASE5050 also publishes results pages and a Provably Fair explainer so you can follow the same audit path without trusting a screenshot.
+What wallets can I use, and how do I get started?
Use any major EVM wallet that supports Base Mainnet, including MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, Trust Wallet, and WalletConnect-compatible wallets. Connect on base5050.com, fund the wallet with ETH or USDC (plus a little ETH for gas), then create a raffle or buy tickets. Start with How It Works if you want the flow before signing anything.
